Preparing Your Organization for Modern Mentoring

Presenter: Randy Emelo

Founder and Chief Strategist, River

Would you like to dig in further on preparing your organization for modern mentoring? Join us for an expanded hands-on half-day seminar featuring Randy Emelo, author of Modern Mentoring (ATD Press, 2015).

Traditional mentoring, as we know it, is dead. Forget the idea that only certain people are qualified enough to share knowledge as mentors, and only the lucky few are deemed worthy enough to be mentees.

Today, mentoring is about open, flexible and dynamic learning relationships where anyone can take part, anyone can connect to share information and insights, and anyone can be a learner or advisor.  This new approach is modern mentoring, and it is here to stay.

During this workshop, you will:

  • Learn about the factors that define modern mentoring
  • Analyze generational issues related to mentoring
  • Examine a strategy for creating a mentoring roadmap
  • Engage in roundtable activities to build your own roadmap

After completing the workshop session, participants will have:

  • A gap analysis of the current state of mentoring in their organization
  • A force field analysis of driving and restraining forces in their organization related to their mentoring culture
  • Input from other participants on options and ideas for moving forward
  • A draft action plan for mentoring in their organization and ideas on getting stakeholder buy-in

Breakfast and Box Lunch will be provided
